If your skin is more easily prone to inflammation, redness, and irritation you may have sensitive skin.

Weather, especially extreme cold and wind, can cause dryness and irritate skin, causing increased sensitivity.

Exposure to UV rays can damage skin. Using a daily sunscreen is very important. Look for one that is formulated specifically for sensitive skin like Neutrogena^® Sensitive Skin Sunscreen SPF 60+ or Neutrogena^® Sheer Zinc^® Sunscreen SPF 50.

Find products that are formulated to be gentle on the skin, specifically, oil-free, dye-free, fragrance-free products. Also, look for hypo-allergenic products since they are less likely to cause allergic reactions compared to non-hypoallergenic products.

There are many things you can do to help manage sensitive skin. Start by limiting showers to 5-10 minutes with lukewarm water (not hot). Always use products formulated for sensitive skin that are fragrance-free, and even consider switching to a fragrance-free laundry detergent.
